I hate that damn Fresh Prince song, mostly because I think Will Smith is a total tool, but it sums up this past weekend pretty well. Temps in NYC were sunny and warm, making it the perfect weekend to spend outdoors. Of course, I spent a couple hours on Saturday inside a movie theater watching a screening of "Do I Look Fat?", a documentary about gay men with eating disorders and body image issues which was part of NewFest, the New York GLBT film festival. How could I miss that?
But to mark summer's arrival, today I went for a run at the gym before grocery shopping and preparing the delish pasta salad you see above. It consists of organic wheat pasta shells, cubes of fresh mozzarella cheese and chopped cherry tomatoes, tossed with basil leaves and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Serve with a fresh brewed glass of iced tea and...yum!
Then I took Lucy for a long walk over to Prospect Park where we lounged on a blanket on a shady patch of grass for about an hour. She was pretty worn out
from all the exercise and the hot sun, but I think she loved it!
This entry is super lame but I can't muster up any bitterness after such a lovely day. I'll try to do better later this week.
